PackManager and QCloud are both Nulogy products. They are software that make contract packagers life a bit easier.
Before the branding around each product was looked at as standalone products, not tied to anything else. This was a problem as these products can work together and more importantly they both come from the same company.
In order to portray their relation, a branding system needed to be set in place. One that could extend to future products as well.
This is where the isometric grid comes into play. The Nulogy logo was based around this grid from the start. To tie this all together, both icons were built on this grid. To go even further, the collateral will also have some variation of the grid and icons based on the grid.
Because the software itself is tweaked in some way to tailor fit its surroundings, the icons are also moved around a bit - The "M" on top of the "P" whereas the "Q" is next to the "C" - an inspiration which came from the Rubix Cube. Further down the road, when more products come into play, the lettering position will be played around with.
When both products are now put together, a design system is clearly seen, and now all products developed by Nulogy will have a system that their branding is based on. One that can evolve and expand.
A little fun fact: These also carry some inspiration from classic 8-bit games, as this is a soft spot for the CEO and founders of Nulogy.
